Fruit for our 2022 Nero comes primarily from our home vineyard at 97 Pennys Hill Rd, The Range and is made up of roughly 50% Nero d’Avola 30% Aglianico 14% Grenache and 6% Mataro. This wine is extremely limited due to the small block of Nero d’Avola and Aglianico grown on our vineyard—only 310 dozen were produced.
The fruit was picked between the 4th of April and the 13th of April and after crushing, destemming and fermentation, placed into mature oak for 10 months to develop.
An exhilaratingly different take on a red blend, this vibrant purple wine exhibits notes of red current & raspberry with a hint of mocha on the nose.
The mocha continues on to the palate where it also shows highlights of blackberry & blue fruits. Firm tannins on the finish bring a satisfying mouth feel to this delicious wine.
