Sew & Sew is founded on the idea that creating beautiful wines is a hand-craft, just like sewing. We fashion our wines from the best quality grapes from exceptional regions and vineyards. Our ranges are stitched together from hand selected varietals and fruit from McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills regions. At Sew & Sew we appreciate the patterns of the winemaking process from bud to bottle. We pay homage to the growing conditions – the sun, water, soil and the vines in the vineyard. We craft the fruit in the winery to produce wines of distinct form and style.
The pattern theme continues through to our two wine ranges. The Sashiko range is named after the ancient Japanese stitch-craft, which is beautiful and playful. The stitching on the Contour labels represents the shapes and curves of the vines from the vineyard sites where the grapes were grown.
Sew & Sew was established in 2014 by a group of wine-loving friends with a shared passion for quality wines, enjoyed in good company. In 2018 we found a vineyard home on The Range above McLaren Vale. Today many of our red wines come from grapes grown on this site and we continue to source grapes from other vineyards in the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale.
