The Survivor Vine is defined as 70 – 100 years of age. The old soul of the 78-year-old vines grown on sandy loam in the Blewitt Springs region of McLaren Vale gives great character, reflecting its own unique profile.
Vibrant and rich in colour, this wine has notes of deep red cherries, blueberries, red apple and chocolate with a hint of subtle oak and spice. Smooth and rich on the palate with a soft lingering tannin. We’ve found upon writing these tasting notes, as a young and freshly bottled Shiraz, this wine was compact and tight and unravels itself with decanting and some time to breathe.
Wine has been selected from fine grained French oak resulting in rich vibrant fruit, that can be cellared with confidence. It has been matured in oak for 22 months. Minimal intervention practiced in the vineyard to bottle.
