Conte Estate Yabby Dam Pinot Noir 2024

The ‘Yabby Dam’, just upstream from the Pinot vineyard, fills during the winter 

 months. The Yabby (Cherax destructor) is a freshwater crayfish native to South  

Australia, growing to 25cm. To survive, they burrow into the mud of the drying dam bottom, until the next good rain. 

This Pinot Noir has a complex and saturating profile of red berries, sweet spices and subtle earthy undertones, enhanced by French oak maturation. The slightly fuller bodied style reflects the ripe McLaren Vale red tradition.   

Aged in a mix of French Oak barrels and Stainless tank
